After Butler, Rhonda graduated from Jacksonville State University and then taught school in Griffin, Georgia, for 6 years.

She earned her Master's in Elementary Education during that time at Georgia State in Atlanta.

Rhonda and Dan Bass were married in 1975 and moved back to Madison County where she taught for 1 year at the old school in Meridianville before taking time off to raise their son and two stepchildren.

Ten years later, after moving to Florida, Rhonda was back in the classroom for ten more years. She describes her classroom as one of the pilots for the standardized Florida Math test that was being implemented at that time.

She retired from teaching in 1998 and moved back to the Huntsville area in 2001 right before their younger son graduated from Florida State.

Rhonda and Dan's children are scattered from New York to South Florida, with the third in Madison. Dan worked for Volvo Car Corporation in Sweden and Volvo Cars North America for 17 years, retired from there, and now Rhonda and Dan have own their own business as well as a second business that their son is in charge of.

As Chairwoman of the 40th Reunion Committee, Rhonda has been a

driving force to keep the Classmate Data Base as up to date as possible (which is no small task) and to make this the best reunion ever. Hang around Rhonda for a while. and there is no doubt about how sincere she is about bringing so many of us back together again to ensure the bonds of so long ago continue for years to come.
