Anita lives in Scottsboro, Alabama, and taught elementary school for 30 years in Bridgeport. She retired in June of 2001. In 2003 she started working two part time jobs - still in the field of education.
She currently teaches GED class three nights a week all year and also supervises student teachers through Jacksonville State University during the regular school year.
Anita usually enjoys both of these jobs. She got married again about ten years ago to Bobby Batey and they like to work around the house and in the yard. He has two children and now the Batey's have three grandchildren.
